Vapour Removal Filters: These filters remove coalescing lubricants. Lubricant aerosols absorb vapour removal filters. Aerosols render filters useless in hours. Coalescing filter before vapour removal filter avoids this. Activated carbon granules, fabric, or paper absorb contaminants. Activated charcoal is the most used filter material because of its large pores; a handful covers a football field.
