Duplex strainers are mainly used where the interference to the operation or flow is not acceptable. This duplex strainer allows the machine to operate without any pause when cleaning or servicing is required by redirecting the flow to the other strainer when the first strainer reaches its capacity and is being cleaned. All fluid from the inlet will flow in the first strainer basket.

As the fluid passes through the first strainer, the filter part will trap all the impurities. This means that only clean fluid will exist in the strainer basket to the outlet port. With time the pressure drop will increase in this filter chamber. This increased pressure drop is an indication that particles have been accumulated and cleaning is needed.
The operator pushes the valve lever to the opposite end and it will close the clogged filter chamber and open the clean filter chamber that was not in use. Instead of stopping the entire system, one can simultaneously use the other filter part. For cleaning the dirty filter chamber is depressurized by the vent screw, the housing cover is detached and the filter element has to be removed. The filter part is cleaned by flushing it with a cleaning fluid and later blown out using compressed air. Our Duplex filter in MS/CS MOC is available with Painted, hot-dip galvanized and powder coated. Duple filter in SS MOC is available with mirror polished both sides and glass bead blasting.
