Maximize Filtration Efficiency With Duplex Filters

GTS Filters And Systems Pvt. Ltd. is one of the leading Duplex filter manufacturers in India. Our offered Duplex filter is manufactured using premium quality material. The main quality of the duplex filter is it can work maintenance-free except for examining the seals and cleaning of the filter part. This has two filter chambers with a valve attached to divert the flow of liquid to one strainer while the other is being cleaned.

Duplex strainers are mainly used where the interference to the operation or flow is not acceptable. This duplex strainer allows the machine to operate without any pause when cleaning or servicing is required by redirecting the flow to the other strainer when the first strainer reaches its capacity and is being cleaned. All fluid from the inlet will flow in the first strainer basket.

As the fluid passes through the first strainer, the filter part will trap all the impurities. This means that only clean fluid will exist in the strainer basket to the outlet port. With time the pressure drop will increase in this filter chamber. This increased pressure drop is an indication that particles have been accumulated and cleaning is needed.

The operator pushes the valve lever to the opposite end and it will close the clogged filter chamber and open the clean filter chamber that was not in use. Instead of stopping the entire system, one can simultaneously use the other filter part. For cleaning the dirty filter chamber is depressurized by the vent screw, the housing cover is detached and the filter element has to be removed. The filter part is cleaned by flushing it with a cleaning fluid and later blown out using compressed air. Our Duplex filter in MS/CS MOC is available with Painted, hot-dip galvanized and powder coated. Duple filter in SS MOC is available with mirror polished both sides and glass bead blasting.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Line size, flow rate, and the filtration rating you need come first. Material of construction and end connection type matter too, along with your operating pressure and temperature. Share these with us and we’ll configure a filter suited to your process.
Two filter chambers get placed side by side, with a valve between them that diverts flow from one to the other. While fluid keeps filtering through the active chamber, the second one can be opened up and cleaned without touching the running process at all.
Pressure drop across the active chamber is the signal to watch. As impurities build up on the filter element, that pressure drop climbs steadily, and once it crosses a certain point, it’s telling you the chamber has trapped about as much as it can hold.
The vent screw depressurises the chamber first, after which the housing cover comes off and the filter element is removed. Flushing it with a cleaning fluid gets rid of the trapped impurities, and a blast of compressed air finishes drying it out before it goes back in.
MS and CS construction comes with painted, hot-dip-galvanised, or powder-coated finishes. Stainless steel versions, on the other hand, are offered with mirror polishing or glass bead blasting on both sides, depending on how the finish needs to hold up in your environment.
Largely, yes, apart from periodically checking the seals and cleaning the filter element. Since one chamber stays in service while the other is cleaned, there’s no downtime involved in that maintenance either, which is really what sets a duplex filter apart from a single-chamber unit.
Up to 50 bar of pressure and a temperature range of 15°C to 500°C make up its working envelope. Flow rate goes up to 1000 m³ per hour and beyond, and filtration rating runs from 1 micron to 6000 micron.
Refineries, power plants, and oil and gas operations account for a good share of demand. Chemical, automobile, steel, and textile industries use them too, along with the dairy, food, pharmaceutical, cement, and fertiliser sectors, plus coolant oil and cutting fluid applications.
An operator pushes the valve lever across to redirect flow, so switching isn’t automatic in that sense. What is automatic is the effect: the clogged chamber closes off, and the clean one opens at the same moment, with no separate steps needed in between.
Yes, 150# and 300# flanged, Table E and Table F flanges, DIN standard flanges, butt weld, NPT/BSP threaded, hose pipe, Tri Clover, and SMS union connections are all available. Share your piping standard and requirement, and we’ll build the filter to match.
